After 1 whole exhausting term at my new school Hwa Chong Institution, I have benefitted a lot from every aspect. Be it moral values, academic or sports! However, I would be only touching on my reflections of my learning of the subject Science. In term 1, I got to know my new Science teacher, Miss Nada. She was pretty interesting when we met her, i felt that she had a different approach to knowing us. Till now, I still remembered when she only gave us 3 questions to ask about her and we did ask many dumb questions. That term I learnt new topics that I did not even know. Such as, learning to use the Bunsen burner, and laboratory equipment. The main thing that interested yet shocked me the most was actually going to the Science lab. It was very interesting yet a little frightening. I was a little frightened as I had never been to a Science lab and did not know what to expect. I felt very fascinated with the vast amount of apparatus and equipment. However, the lesson that is still edged in my mind is the lesson that we learnt how to use the Bunsen burner. I did not know that lighting a Bunsen burner took such precaution, I had always thought that you had to just take a lighter and light it. I still remember the time when I was so afraid of lighting it as I was frightened that a strike back would occur. However, i succeeded!! Term 1 has left a deep impression on me and I hope to remember those moments forever.
